sixcentz: What do you write? When did you start?

sixcentz: Would you consider yourself a bomber or a piecer?
moose 106 :   I consider myself  more of a bomber, although I've done it  all,, from tags to piece's ,I enjoyed bombing the most. There was nothing like coming  across ,a clean train  and bombing the hell out of  it, inside and out. Wall papering it , that's  what we called it back than, putting  up as many tags and out lines as possible. 50, 100, or more cover the whole dam car.

sixcentz: who got you into graff?
moose 106 :   I got myself into graffiti , as a kid I had a bad habit of doodling and writing on everything.the hallway of my building ,the walls in our apartment, the bad sheets and more. at school, the desk and lockers, my books etc.when I was in the 6th grade, I started to notice the graffiti on walls, of my block and buses coming by.Tags like ,Pico105, Ramy-105 ,Saint-107,Jose-102,Sailor-109 Bulldog, Apache ,Tree -127 ,Clancy-120,CoolCliff-120, Maddog-117,Topcat-126 , James 1 and 2 James 125 And others.this was about 69 or early 1970. And than I Started tagging( hitting) walls buses and trucks around my way by mid 1970 I teamed up with SEGGI-1-719 and JOHNNY-719 that's when I started on the subways and trains.

sixcentz: whats your favorite thing to paint?
moose 106 : My favorite thing to paint. trains and subway stations had to be my favorite,  I liked buses, mailboxes trucks, phone booths, street lamp poles, and walls too.

sixcentz: who were your influences?
moose 106 :    I was influenced by many writers of 69 and early 1970 the ones I  mentioned  earlier others such as Ace-137,Cay-161,Taki-183 ,Soda-1 ,King Rat-1 ,Bad bob -60,Stitch , Static and Snake -1 Tan and Coco-144, Franky, and Jay-135,Pot-136,Izzy-16, CC-10 ,Frank and Mike-207,Clyde,StayHigh-149 ,Phase-2,SuperKool-223,Ray-B-954,AJ-161,ELmarko-174,Rican-619,Iron-mike-170,BJ-61,Smokey-1,Eva-62,Barbara and Michille-62,Lazar,Dino nod,Spin ,NoL,KoolKito,Turok-161,Super Strut taff,  Lee 163rd ,me 163 , Joe 136 ,Freddy 173, MR .Tibbs ,T-REX ,SJK-171 JEC star, Comet-1 Blade-1 Blade 131 Corky 170,Malo 125  And so  many  others.

sixcentz: what is your favorite paint? And color?
moose 106 :    Krylon is my favorite paint, cascade, turquoise, plum and green ,are my favorite colors. they were great for piecing krylon had a better color selection then the other paint company's.( back in my day any way)  I think krylon stopped making cascade and turquois,I don't see it around any more .

sixcentz: In your opinion who do you think is the most under rated person in the graff world?
moose 106 : Me MOOSE106  I,am  the most under rated, person in the graffiti world. no just kidding.,good question .Give me a moment, to think about  that one , its not an easy question . Theres a few, but I,am going to go, with just one. One of my former writing partners and dear friend, my  mother F** K ing  main  man . DEL, FAB 5,Pog,  DEL WAZ HERE,CC THE ORIGINAL.Besides under rated writers ,I think there are to many ,over rated writers,(artists) out there. But I won't mention no names.

sixcentz: How do you feel about the graffiti that people are doing currently?? Anyone you feel?
moose 106 : I feel graffiti is  getting to commercial ,but I can't blame em ,someone got to get paid .But I still think theres ,a lot of great talent ,out there. Young and old and I' am amazed how ,its grown and spread ,around  the world. Its gotten so huge,I hope it continues to grow.

sixcentz: Any good stories or funny stories related to painting you wanna share?
moose 106 : I  have many stories, I can write a book, maybe I will some someday. Heres one , One day back  around  71 or 72  after, spending  most of the morning in the 1(one) tunnel..At  145st in  B,way ,we decided to go bomb some ind's.A 's ,AA, B's, and BB's. At the 175st tunnel,.But when we got there,it was to hot to go in. There were cops on the station and  they didn't look like there were going any were soon. So we ( mga  )decided to just ride, the train and do some motion tagging. We, took the the train down town. when we( MOOSE-106 ,JOHNNY-719 R.I.P,SEGGI-1-719,RB-1,POLLO-136,) and some others got to 155th eight ave. There were a  bunch  ,of writers at the station ,they were bombing the uptown side. So we got off  and stared bombing, the downtown side it was us ,on one side and them on the other.JACE-2 , PI PER-1,ROSS-1,SKIP-1 ,BOOGIE-150 and others. JACE and PIPER were putting up piece's and just as they finished. And every one was leaving ,some guy comes and starts, taking pictures. We asked who the guy was and why he was taking pictures. And he said his name, was Norman mailer and he and some other people, were writing a book on graffiti. I didn't no what to think at the time, I never heard of this guy before,I didn't know him and I  didn't belive him and I didn't, trust him. Any how about 2 years later about 74 , I was in the marine  corps now and  I have not been writing since mid 1973. I came home for  leave one weekend, around April of  74 and ran into a few of my old writing buddy's . And they show me this book on graffiti ,called faith of graffiti ,by Norman mailer .Ain't that something, this was the guy, I didn't belive or trust . (egg on my face)Any how there, was a picture taken of a tag of mine, that made the book .The first book about graffiti, I got my 15 minutes of fame ha,ha,I made a couple of others since than. Any way I think it was funny. Heres  another one, it was mid DEC around 71 and me and the guys( mga )  went to the 7 yard, in flushing Queens. Back when they were, powder blue with a white stripe and baby blue with gray seats inside. They were the prettiest trains ,on the subway line, back then. At  least until   the ding dong's came out . When we got in the yard, some how I got separated, from the rest of the crew. not thinking much about  it at the time, I went on  my own and found a nice clean  car and started putting up ,a  piece for Christmas. A MOOSE106 in red with white stripes, a peppermint candy cane. I put a little Christmas tree and a snowman , on the sides and wrote( tagged ,hit )merry christmoose and a happy moose year, in black on the upper left hand corner. when I was done I went looking for the guys,  to show them but after  a few minutes, I couldn't find no one. Than out of no were I hear this yelling, but I didn't know  were it was coming  from,or who it was or what they were saying.  After walking a few minutes in and out of cars and Thu the yard .Looking around  for the guys and trying to find out who was yelling and what they were yelling about I decided to get out the of  yard , thinking something  had  happened to the guys. Just as I was getting down ,from between the cars ,I check to see if it was safe ,to make it over the fence . And I hear the yelling again , I looked up and there were some of guys, now out side the  yard ,on the over path over looking the yard, heading to the train station .  I still couldn't make out ,what they were saying ,but they were also pointing and  by this time,  I knew there was trouble.  I looked were they were pointing and at first I didn't see anything , then out of  know were appeared this cop. With this big ass dog, a big German shepherd , they were about 4 or 5 cars down may be 40 ,50 yards maybe more maybe less.  I was about 30 yards from the fence ,I knew I wouldn't make it up and over the fence, if I ran and he let the dog loose on me. So I tried climbing back up into the train car and slipped and fell , I broke my ass. I looked and  the cop and dog were running my way, they were on the chase and I was on the run. I  went under the train to the other side and clamed up in between the cars and tired opening the doors, but they were locked ,so reached in my pants pocket for my keys. I had keys to the trains and the stations. But Couldn't get the doors unlocked and I could hear the dog getting closer ,so I jumped down from between the cars and tried to make it to the other train. What a mistake that was,  just as I reach up to get on the train, the dog comes from under the other train and attacks me. Bites me right on my ass and pulls me down, the dog is tearing at me and I' am kicking  and screaming , yelling to the cop to get the dog  off me . He calls the dog off and tells me to stay put ,but I got up and took off running again, this time I climbed  between the cars to  the top of the roof, of  the train. And ran, jumping cars, I  finely lost them . And made it back to the fence ,and got out of the yard. I was all misted up ,but I didn't get busted  and bite on my ass was not as bad as I originally though it was ,but I found out some the got busted that day .And had to buff the trains at the 7 yard  and the flushing train station ,the following week ,I was told they buffed my piece. I never seen it run and by to todays standards and maybe even back then IT was kind of weak. Although it was only my second time in the 7 yard ,I never went back, I hit a few more 7s but on the lay ups . oh I also got my ass kicked , when I got home.
