sixcentz: what do you write?
gato: Gato
RIS. MTK. AOK

sixcentz: where you from? What Boro?
gato: I started in Queens around 1987.

sixcentz: What crew/crews are you down with?
gato: The Crews I repersented was  TMR, TFV, RIS, NOG, TDK, MTK, AOK, MCI which old school writer DUEL put me down. He was a real king on the expressways and was a true inspiration to me when coming in to the writing game. Duel is very under rated in Queens a should get more props in the writing game as well as DURAN, DERA, SOE, RECE MOD, SlONE, DORO, TIME TMR, IMAGE TMR, ZEP,  MENT, KA, RISK, K-PRO, SMOG, STANE, RENT , LIVE 9, SARO, DOSER, CJ,  COMA, MAC / MIRAGE.

sixcentz: who got you into graff? who were your influences?
gato: I met KA and RENT in bayside Queens and they showed me the in's and out's of the graffiti game. The first time I hit a train was with KA and RENT and they took me to bomb the  R trains and KA killed shit that night with top to bottoms and a few plain style pieces. At the time I was not writing GATO but AK. I met NATO and BRUZ in Queens and Nato was the man to give me promision to write Gato, He also showed me how to rock the letters and the rest in history. I went to Frances Lewis High school in Queens and there I met guys like SAINT and DERA who were the KINGs of the long Island expressway and I few others. Once I met SAINT thats when I met Ghost ris and they started taking me to write on all the trains. Ghost was on every train that I seen in 1988 as well as KET, VEN, REAS, NEO, EA, SUR 167, SAINT, KA,SENT, SOE, CRO, RENT and WES 1. These guys were the real ris crew and I looked up to them, because they had some great style  and bombed the the whole city. KET was a real crazy spanish kid who did not give a fuck. we once went to a lay -up and Brooklyn to do throw up's and 3 work bums came out from no where, and tried to grab Ket but he maced one of the them and we jetted for the fence to find 2 D.t's on our left, But Ket said fuck that and swang open that hole that was in the fence and disapeared like a ghost ( No wonder he wrote with Ghost ). Shit was funny! I Went Bombing with NEO who was this big white guy who loved fighting, He use to scare alot of writers in the area but loved robbing kids in Queens for no reason. Thats some funny shit.  REAS and VEN showed me how to do throw's and tried to school me on pieces. REAS next to DONDI has to be one of the all time style masters in Graffiti. I  remember hearing about this guy before I started writing in 1982, that he was one of the best writers in the city even showed Ghost a few pointers on painting. The yards and lay-up's I hit were the 7's, R's, M's, 2's, 5's, J's, L's and S trains. Racking paint was not a problem because I knew this guy NIM and his older brother worked in a hard ware store in Spring fields, each time saint would walk in he would keep the front door open for us, as well as make sure the boss did not spot. We use to walk out with about 40 cans a pop. There was another rack Cro and I would go to  pick up 100 can with 4 trips back and forth in that mom's and pop store. CRO got chased out one time by some 75 year old man which had to be the funniest shit I ever seen. You seen this kid running with all brands of spray paint sliping out his jacket, which all the old man had to do was follow the trail of spray paint.

sixcentz: Any good stories or funny stories related to painting you wanna share?
gato: The first time I wrote on the 2's and 5 trains, was with MIRAGE and SAINT . Mirage did his his famous feet  on every fucken trains that was parked that night. Another time Mirage did a gaint Mirage piece and did a Gato for me right besides it. He had great stlyle! I loved going hitting with VEN and GHOST because they had balls. They would jump off a ellevanted tracks, jump over a borb wire , punch a cop what ever it took to get away. " I loved there attitude". I quit in 1990, The last time I went Bombing was with Old School writers KA and RENT. I went hitting the Ryder trucks then stoped.
